Fort Morgan – Searching for a new job has just been made easier for residents living on the Eastern Plains.  In fact, you can now kick up your feet, get your favorite beverage and turn on the TV and watch all the latest job openings in the comfort of your own home.

The Eastern Colorado Workforce Center, which is part of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, is working with local cable television channels to launch a new service to bring available job openings into each home that subscribes to cable TV beginning Monday, June 9th.  This new service is called JoBs tv Network and will be updated each week with the latest job listings.

The first JoBs tv Network show has 170 job listings throughout the ten county area that comprises the Eastern Workforce Region stretching from Sedgwick County to Lincoln County.  Each job listing will include a job title, description, pay scale, hours needed, and a Job Order Number.  You then can call the nearest Workforce Office and they will give you the necessary information to contact the employer.  All services are free of charge.

JoBs tv Network also offers career tips on how to write a professional resume, interviewing secrets, and keeping your new employer impressed with your performance.  Information on upcoming Workforce events, like the Governor’s Summer Job Hunt Program and Job Fairs, will also be aired on JoBs tv Network to provide residents with as many tools as possible to land that dream job.

“With such a large geographic area to cover, the Workforce Centers wanted to bring services closer to Eastern Plains residents.  TV was the answer,” said Workforce Board Chairman Russ Weimer.   “Now you can turn on your TV and watch all the new jobs scroll by.  Very convenient.”

Beginning the week of June 9th, the following towns and cities will begin carrying information about jobs on their cable channel.  Most channels will air the job information on a continuous basis.

Brush Channel 10
Burlington Channel 13
Fort Morgan Channel 10
Julesburg Channel 19
Ovid Channel 19
Sedgwick Channel 19
Sterling Channel 20
Wiggins Channel 19
Wray Channel 11
Yuma Channel  9

“Watching job listings on TV is a great idea!”  said Vickie Lehmkuhl of Sterling.  “I’m excited about this project and will tune in next week to look for my next job.”

Workforce job listings can also be accessed through the Internet at http://www.yourworkforcecenter.com or visit your local Workforce office in Fort Morgan, Sterling, Burlington, Limon, and Yuma.
