Five staff members for the Western workforce sub-region completed certification training as Global Career Development Facilitators (GCDF). The course consists of a minimum 120 hours of study and is designed for individuals who assist others with career development. Upon completion of the training, completers are eligible for the internationally recognized GCDF certification through the Center for Credentialing and Education. The training is designed for both front-line staff and program administrators in a variety of settings. In-depth course content includes coverage of:
“The GCDF curriculum is designed for professionals and paraprofessionals who work in all kinds of settings,” said Guy Pfalzgraff, GCDF instructor. “Present-day career-oriented programs require staff with current knowledge and skills in career development and job opportunities. This program allows for workforce staff to attain a competency level in the facilitation of these career development opportunities for our customers through the workforce centers.” Program completers below are William Huey, Sharon Watkins, and Melissa Fields-Allgeyer, who are Workforce Center employees. Lisa Culver-Barrientos and Anne Hasse with The Training Advantage, a WIA youth services contractor in Western sub-region, also completed the course instructed by Guy Pflzgraff. All are also based in the Montrose Workforce Center.
